ACCESSING

ACKERMAN-ALLEN

Ackerman-Allen is open to the public in 2024. Access to Ackerman-Allen will be from Cherry Lane via Northwestern Avenue and then taking a left onto Steven Beering Drive, with a bag drop and operations trailer located in between the golf course and the Ross-Ade Lot (“R Lot”).

Parking

Parking is available in the R Lot, located to the North of Ross-Ade Stadium. Golfers will enter R Lot off of Cherry Lane and Steven Beering Drive and may park in any available space in the north half of the lot, closest to Cherry Lane. No additional permits or parking passes are required to park in R Lot while golfing at Birck Boilermaker.

check-in process

Golfers will use the temporary trailer set up along Steven Beering Drive to check-in ahead of their rounds. Once you have parked, please make your way to the trailer for check-in. After check-in, you may pick up a golf cart that will be staged just behind the #10 green, and make your way to the #11 tee, which will serve as the first hole for Ackerman-Allen during the temporary conditions.

Driving range access

Golfers will be be able to check-in, pick up a golf cart, and drive to the range prior to their round.

If you do wish to warm up on the driving range prior to your round, please be sure to give yourself an extra 30 to 60 minutes before your round to allow for transport to the range and then back again to the first tee.

Modified course layout

#11 will serve as the starting hole on Ackerman-Allen for the 2024 season. Golfers playing 9 holes will go from the 18th green to the 10th tee box for their finishing hole. Please note that golfers playing 18 will proceed from the 9th green to the 10th tee box as well. We ask that golfers playing 9 holes allow golfers playing 18 to play through and tee off after the golfers playing 18.

ACCESSING

KAMPEN-COSLER

Due to limited access and parking, the Kampen-Cosler Course will be limited to BBGC Members and members of the Purdue Golf Teams until further notice. Guest play on Kampen-Cosler will be permitted during this time but only when accompanied by a BBGC Member.

Access via Cherry Lane

Members playing Kampen-Cosler or those wishing to visit the Pro Shop will use the north exit of the roundabout on Cherry Lane to enter the facility.

Parking for kampen-cosler

There will be a limited number of parking spots reserved for BBGC Members playing Kampen-Cosler in the existing Dye Clubhouse parking lot that will be accessible from the east, via Cherry Lane and Edgemont Street.

Due to the extremely limited number of these parking spots, we strongly encourage BBGC Members to carpool together if you know you will be golfing together in order to allow for the maximum use of the spaces available to BBGC Members. In order to help ensure that the available spots are held for BBGC Members, the Birck Boilermaker Golf Complex staff will be providing their members with a parking pass to display while parked at Birck Boilermaker. Be on the lookout for more information from the Birck Boilermaker Golf Staff.

members' warm up tee and driving range

BBGC Members will continue to have access to their warm up area located adjacent to the existing cart barn. We will continue to have sand to repair divots along with signage stressing the importance of repairing divots in order to preserve the grass hitting areas and to ensure that the increased use of this space can be maintained throughout the entire golf season.

With golf cart and pedestrian traffic now able to access the driving range, we ask that Members return to using the warm up area prior to their round and visit the driving range when they wish to practice or hit golf balls for an extended period of time. The path to take from golf cart staging to the driving range is shown below.

Finally, the Member’s warm-up area is IRONS ONLY. Please do not use any clubs that can reach over the fence to the Turfgrass facility.

GOLF CART STAGING

Golf carts will be staged in front of the Dye House for those who wish to ride on Kampen-Cosler. If you, or your guest(s), need to pay for a golf cart, we ask that you please check-in with the Pro Shop prior to your round to do so.

Food & beverage options

Food and Beverage services will be available to golfers playing Kampen-Cosler. Golfers may stop in to Pete’s Cafe before their round or when making the turn and will have access to the typical offerings at Birck Boilermaker. In addition to Pete’s, golfers may take advantage of the beverage carts when they are in service. Golfers may also place an order ahead of making the turn by calling the Pro Shop upon arrival to the 8th tee box and it will be ready to be picked up in Pete’s before they make the turn.
