Daniel M. Ross, PGA

Head Golf Professional & Director of Instruction

 Dan is the Head Golf Professional & Director of Instruction at the Birck Boilermaker Golf Complex. He has been a PGA Member since 1995 and joined the BBGC staff in 2004. He and his wife Luci, a graduate of Purdue, have two children, Ally and Jackson.

Dan played his collegiate golf at Taylor University, graduating in 1992. Dan has been a golf instructor since 1993, when he gave lessons as an Assistant Professional at Harrison Lake Country Club in Columbus. During his time at Harrison Lake, from 1993-96, Dan taught under PGA Master Professional Tony Clecak. It was during this time that Dan developed a strong interest in Junior Golf, which has remained a major part of his teaching programs to this day. Currently, Dan offers the First Tee Program, PGA Junior League and summer camps for Juniors.

In 2004, Dan became the Head PGA Professional at the Birck Boilermaker Golf Complex, and in 2006 added the title of Director of Instruction. Each year Dan coordinates and teaches 16 collegiate level golf classes per semester called, “Golf: For Business and Life”. Dan has worked with thousands of students in this class alone.

Scott Collins

Assistant Golf Professional – Outings, Events, and Memberships

Scott Collins, originially from Delphi, IN, joined the Birck Boilermaker Golf Complex Professional Staff in June 2018 after working at the facility for several years in an Outside Operations role. Scott had been working as the Pro Shop Lead at Dicks Sporting Goods for 2 years prior to joining the Professional Staff at the BBGC. During his time at Dicks Sporting Goods, Scott gained valuable experience working with club fittings, club repair, and working with customers to find the best equipment for their game. He aslo recieved his club fitting certification for Ping and Callaway equipment during his tenure at Dicks Sporting Goods and recently joined Srixon’s staff to help players looking to find the right equipment for them.

Alex Brawn

Assistant Golf Professional

Alex Brawn joined the BBGC Professional Staff in April 2021. Previously Alex served as Assistant Golf Professional at Westchester Golf Course in Canal Winchester, OH from 2017-2020. Alex oversaw daily operations at Westchester while coordinating the facility’s leagues and assisting with event operations. He also held Assistant Professional roles at Harbour Trees Golf & Beach Club and Broadmoor CC in Indianapolis. Alex passed his Playing Ability Test in 2018 and is currently a Level 1 Associate PGA Member. Alex also assists Dan Ross with the First Tee and PGA Junior League programs at BBGC.

After growing up in Apex, North Carolina, Alex attended The Ohio State University; he graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Professional Golf Management and minors in Chemistry and Business. Alex resides in Lafayette with his wife Michelle.

Jim Scott

Director of Agronomy

Jim is the Birck Boilermaker Golf Complex Superintendent. Jim began construction on the Kampen Course with Pete Dye in 1995, and again worked with Pete Dye in 2015 to transfrom the Ackerman Hills Course into the Ackerman-Allen Course.

Rob Bradley

Head Coach, Purdue Men’s Golf

Rob Bradley is in his sixth season as head coach of the Purdue Men’s Golf Team. The 2012 graduate of Excelsior College spent seven years as a full member of the Nationwide Tour (1997, 2000-04 and 2008) and was a two-time participant in the U.S. Open (1997 and 2003). He was a six-time finalist at the PGA’s Q-School and won the 1999 Kentucky Open Championship. Bradley also claimed the 1995 New Jersey State Amateur Championship. Grant Brettnacher

Instructor/Club Fitter

Grant graduated from Trine University’s Golf Management Program in 2020. While at Trine, Grant was the team captain of the men’s golf team for four seasons. Prior to graduating, Grant spent two seasons working as a club fitter for Taylormade, where he traveled around the state of Indiana assisting players of all ages and abilities to find the right set of clubs for their games. After graduating from Trine, Grant spent two years working at the Purdue University Birck Boilermaker Golf Complex. During his time with Purdue, Grant was the lead club fitter, golf instructor, and taught the University-sponsored golf class. He utilizes technology in each lesson and has a passion to help you take your game to the next level.

Taylor Fletcher

Instructor/Fitter

Taylor Fletcher is a former college golfer and 2019 graduate from Indiana University Kokomo. After spending a year coaching college golf, Taylor has spent the past two years helping players of all skill levels improve their game with instruction and club fitting at The Golf School of Indiana. As one of the leading club fitters on the road with Brad Fellers Elite Services, he has gained valuable information on how to take players’ games to the next level with the proper equipment. Working with beginners all the way to US Amateur qualifiers, Taylor is able to help any players with their specific needs, whether that be swing mechanics, short game, course management, or equipment. Taylor looks forward to helping you improve your game.

Eli Beaverson

Instructor/Fitter

Eli joined the staff at the Golf School of Indiana in 2018. He has a passion for helping golfers build a repeatable, efficient swing that holds up under pressure. Eli creatively communicates key principles to golfers of all skill levels, regardless of age. Through playing lessons, Eli helps players properly strategize their way around a golf course to utilize their strengths and save strokes. He would love to have the opportunity to assist you design and execute a plan of attack for tournament golf through practice rounds and caddying.

Eli was the 2018 Indiana Age Group champion and 2016 Runner-Up. His favorite course to play, to-date, is Arcadia Bluffs in northern Michigan, and his favorite professional golfer is Rory McIlroy.
